Is the recommended first point of contact for survivors who have experienced sexual violence and will support all members of the York Community, including students, staff, and faculty. The Office can outline complaint processes, academic/workplace accommodations, supports, and resources available.

Centre for Human Rights, Equity and Inclusion

Centre for Human Rights, Equity and Inclusion provides free services to current York students, faculty and staff, including information, guidance and consultation on human rights best practices, and communication on our services and progress to the University community.

goSAFE (Community Safety Department)

goSAFE teams will go with you to and from any on-campus location, such as the Village Shuttle pick-up hub, parking lots, bus stops or residences. Upon request goSAFE staff will gladly wait with you until your bus or transportation arrives or your car starts, and we strive to meet you at your pick-up location within 10 minutes.

Community and Legal Aid Services Program (CLASP)

Community and Legal Aid Services Program (CLASP) is an interdisciplinary Student Legal Aid Service Society with students from Osgoode Hall Law School and the School of Social Work at York University. Under the supervision of lawyers and the Community Outreach Counsellor, students give client referrals, summary advice, and representation.

Independent Legal Advice for Sexual Assault Survivors Pilot Program

Independent Legal Advice for Sexual Assault Survivors Pilot Program:
Ontario is piloting a new program that will give survivors of sexual assault access to free legal advice, regardless of how much time has passed since the incident.
Survivors of sexual assault living in the City of Toronto, the City of Ottawa, and the District of Thunder Bay will be able to receive up to four hours of free, confidential advice from a lawyer. The legal advice may be provided over the phone or in person.
